Wisdom and Your Thinking Mind
Wisdom plays an
important role in your everyday life and living. But where does wisdom come
from? It comes from your thinking mind – how
you think, and with what you think.
To think, you need data or information -- which
comes from your daily life experiences perceived by your five senses (seeing,
hearing, smelling, tasting, touching). The data is then stored in the brain in
both your conscious mind and subconscious mind.
Wisdom is the application of the data you have already
collected. Thinking is recalling voluntarily the data stored in your
conscious mind. However, your subconscious mind involuntarily controls
or even directs your conscious mind in the thinking process without your
knowing it. Your thinking mind produces your thoughts, which ultimately become
your realities.
Your thoughts are important because they also
become the essence of your personality, and you are who you are by virtue of
your own thinking. Therefore, it is how you think, not just with what you think, that makes you wise or
otherwise. In other words, wisdom has more to do with the thinking process, rather than with just the accumulation of knowledge that provides the resources for thinking.
Wisdom is essential to the art of living well. Wisdom ultimately affects all your life choices and decisions, making you happy or unhappy.
